Detailed Description
The treasures of the snowy continent are within your reach during your personalized Antarctica tour as you traverse the waters of Southern Atlantic and Southern Oceans to reach secluded islands, remote landscapes, and pass the limits of the Polar Circle. Whether you wish to visit research stations or watch the waters for breaching humpback whales, observe the king penguins or kayak past a soaring iceberg, your Antarctica tour will provide the best of adventure and luxury during the ultimate discovery tour.
The thrills will begin with your arrival at Ushuaia, Argentina, located at the southern tip of South America. The city embraces the majesty of Patagonia and reflects the landscape you will soon discover around the South Shetland Islands and coastline of the Antarctic Peninsula. Board your Antarctica cruise ship at the port and travel east towards the Falkland Islands, and your days at sea will provide ample time to relax in the comforts of the ship, listen to a collection of lecturers brought onboard to provide in-depth information on flora, fauna, and history of the Seventh Continent.
After reaching the Falkland Islands, you can spend time in Stanley, best known for its British ambiance. Enjoy searching for the endemic birdlife on the islands, including cobb’s wren and the flightless steamer duck. Scour the waters aboard your Antarctica cruise en route to South Georgia to find humpback whales, orca, or hourglass dolphins swimming in the Antarctic Convergence. Follow in the footsteps of a famous English captain, Sir Ernest Shackleton at Grytviken on South Georgia, a ghost town formerly an active whaling station. Search for king penguins and fur seals amidst the ambling grasses, snow-capped mountains, and sandy beaches.
After crossing the sea to reach the South Shetland Islands, you will have time to explore the distinctive properties of the archipelago from Elephant Island to Deception Island. Visit a colony of elephant seals and bask in the warm waters of a thermal spring heated by natural volcanic activity. Take zodiac boats between the ship and shore and travel beneath the icebergs to reach the coastline with tours of the peninsula at Paradise Bay and Petermann Island. Pass the Polar Circle to reach the distant island of Detaille, home to the preserved British research station known as Station W. On returning north, you will have the chance to kayak around Pleneau Island to view the Gentoo penguins before reaching King George Island for your flight over the Drake Passage to reach Punta Arenas.

Zicasso’s travel specialist and our guide took great care of us. We were two friends traveling through Chile and everything was managed with professionalism and thoughtful consideration. We had great hotels, great excursions, and on-time transfers booked. Everything ran smoothly, and when we had some travel delays, everything was taken care of for us. I would highly recommend this travel company and we had a fabulous trip to Chile.

Zicasso’s travel specialist planned the honeymoon of our dreams! She seamlessly scheduled our time in Buenos Aires and Patagonia.
Our excursions included a tango show, hikes, mini-trekking on Perito Moreno Glacier, and horseback riding on an estancia. Our lodging and transportation were so convenient.
We would not have been able to plan this ideal trip without her expertise. She kept in consistent contact with us prior to and throughout our stay, and provided us with great food recommendations and travel tips. We got the full Argentine experience and we would do it all over again!

We enjoyed the trip very much. We had planned to visit every place of interest to us in Patagonia on this trip, so it was quite a complex trip to arrange. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a great job overall. We had private guides and private cars for everything, so we could enjoy the experiences at our own pace and focus on the things that interested us.
We started in Buenos Aires, but our main focus was natural beauty. We spent a very interesting day and a half in the city, though. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local history and the sites we visited. Next we went to Iguazú Falls, which was a spectacular experience. Our guide there was the only one who didn't seem as deep or as organized as all the others, but that was a minor issue. Although it is wickedly expensive, I would highly recommend that travelers stay in the one and only lodge inside the Iguazú Falls national park. We got a lot more out of our time there because we were right there at the park.
Next we went to the Lake District and spent memorable days on the water there; amazing scenery! We also saw condors during one of our day-long boat rides on the lake.
Next, we went to Calafate. Although we are not trekkers, the visits to the two main glaciers were unforgettable. The travel specialist had us in the VIP cabin for the day-long boat trip and we had a very knowledgeable guide for the visit to the Perito Moreno glacier.
We did the four-day cruise through Tierra del Fuego next, which I highly recommend, ending in Chile, where we spent two days at the Torres del Paine National Park, one by road in the park with a very knowledgeable private guide, and the second on a full-day lake tour with a marvelous lunch at a scenic ranch, with a close-up view to a glacier.

We went mostly into Patagonia and Torres del Paine, an amazing location. Zicasso’s travel specialist delivered as promised! Everything was first-class and his recommendations for everything from tours to restaurants were right on.
A special note to those with food allergies:
I have a lot of food allergies, so it is not easy for me to eat out, let alone out of the country. I let the travel specialist know ahead of time and all my tours, hotels, and guides knew I was coming and really helped to accommodate me. THANKS AGAIN!
