Johannesburg – Arrival and the Colors of Soweto
Arrive at O. R. Tambo International in Johannesburg where you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the boutique-style hotel. Your morning arrival will free up your afternoon to photograph another side of wild Africa. Head into the township of Soweto to capture the colors as industrial towers laden in graffiti and political murals cover the surrounding houses. Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu were neighbors here, and you will make a stop at their houses on Vilakazi Street, which continues to be a vibrant cultural hub. What an amazing trip! Everything at MalaMala was first-class. Our daily guide was extremely professional and very engaging. The emphasis on photography during our stay was a unique concept. Our time in the hide at our lodge near Victoria Falls proved to be one of our trip highlights.

Zicasso referred me to a wonderful travel agent for our trip to South Africa, Victoria Falls, and the Okavango Delta. The trip was perfect. Our travel company and agent were very good at listening to our ideas for the trip and budget. The trip went without a wrinkle. This is my second time using Zicasso, and both experiences were great.

We just returned from a fantastic two-week trip to Africa, coordinated by our Zicasso travel agent. We started in South Africa (Cape Town/Franschhoek), then went up to Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls), and to Botswana (Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta). Every step of the trip was well coordinated and seamless. The guides and accommodations were fantastic and comfortable.
I can't say enough positive things about our travel agent. She is the most detail-oriented and responsive travel agent I have ever worked with. She has extensive knowledge of travel in Africa and was able to provide outstanding recommendations for every question we had for her. She checked in with us regularly during the trip to make sure everything was going well, which was greatly appreciated. She genuinely cared about providing us with the best experience possible. I highly recommend using her and her agency if you are thinking about traveling to Africa!

Words cannot begin to describe the experiences we had on our African adventure, but I will try.
While we have traveled extensively, this was indeed the "trip of a lifetime." Seeing the wildlife so close you could almost reach out and touch them (although we were certainly told to keep all arms and legs inside the safari vehicles!) was an experience not to be missed. The guides were beyond passionate and knowledgeable. We gained a greater appreciation for nature and the way of the wild. The African sunrises and sunsets are simply magical.
As far as the trip planning, everything was seamless and we had so many bespoke experiences that I cannot imagine we would have ever been able to plan and execute on our own. The lodges were fantastic, in gorgeous locations, and we met many like-minded travelers during shared dinners. The helicopter flight over Victoria Falls was breathtaking. The villa in Mozambique was over-the-top and a perfect way to end our trip to try to process all that we experienced during our three-week experience.
The planning process was easy, we were kept well informed of our options, and once the trip was closer, communication with the team at Zicasso's travel company answered our last-minute questions perfectly.
We will absolutely be recommending this travel company to our friends who want to do this itinerary next year.
