Detailed Description
Greece vacations should be harmonious, a symphony of sights and sounds, flavors and textures. On this 12-day journey through Greece you will experience the magnificent wonders of Athens and the islands where history comes alive, pillars and castles rise from the ground, beaches glimmer in the golden sun, and cliffs hold opulent houses like paintings. Passion drips from the history to the contemporary with myth and majesty. Your Grecian romance began the moment you started thinking about your holiday, that’s the allure, the wonder, the beauty; that’s Greece’s harmony.
The ardent adventure begins with your arrival in Athens. The pillars of antiquity stand within the center of the ancient city like a beacon calling to the Golden Age. Tour through the city’s history finding that its opulence is not just within the rising columns of the Acropolis but also within the palace and hiding beneath the modern city today. On the shores of Mykonos you will have the opportunity to take pleasure on its famed sands. The water is cool and the sand is hot. Mykonos Town offers secluded niches through its restaurants and the charming meandering streets. The colorful walls of Little Venice will grow distant as you venture out into the Mediterranean on your way to Kusadasi.
The Turkish port of Kusadasi holds the ruins of Ephesus, the best-preserved ruins in Asia Minor where once the Temple of Artemis stood and cast awe in the eyes of any beholder. Your exploration of the ancient city is followed by your journey to the island of Patmos where St. John the Divine once found himself in a cave writing the Book of Revelations. Now a monastery marks the sacred spot, looming over the town like a fortress. The romance of Rhodes stands within its fairytale old town, surrounded by castle walls that remind you of the stories you were once were told about knights and kings. Heraklion, Crete holds the mystery to the Minotaur hidden within the Knossos Minoan Palace just outside the city center. Once you arrive along the precipice of Santorini you can watch out over the caldera and spend your days luxuriating in the sunsets, discovering Atlantis within the lost city of Akrotiri, and eventually making the harmonious journey home.

Zicasso’s travel agent created an itinerary that was perfect for Bob, me, and our three grandsons. We hit traditional high points in Greece, but also lots of gems off the beaten trail. All the guides were so enjoyable and really helped make the experience so memorable for our grandsons. We stayed at very exceptional places and there was no worry about transportation or any safety issues!

From the moment we walked off the plane, everything was planned seamlessly! Drivers, hotels, tours, and transfers! Zicasso’s travel agent did an amazing job listening to the types of activities we like to do and was able to put together an itinerary that was amazing! The people we met, the sites we were able to see, and the food were fantastic. She also checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. If we needed her, she was easy to reach out to. She planned the perfect balance of guided activities along with some self-exploration! We cannot thank her enough for planning this vacation!

Our travel company and Zicasso were truly excellent trip resources and designers of our two-week vacation to Greece. They arranged every detail. We had transportation prearranged, lodging that was extraordinary, and food that was unforgettable.
Our guides for various day tours in each location were phenomenal. They were never rushed and seemed to give us limitless time. They made arrangements for us that were not part of their paid services, just because they were so welcoming. The guides were all graduates of universities who had completed months of additional studies to become certified as guides. We learned so much from our trip about the places, but also about the culture and what it's like to actually live in Greece. Bravo!
