Rome – Ascend the Aventine Hill for a View of Rome Like None Other
Today, you and your partner will embark on the couples tour of a lifetime. Your driver will pick the two of you up from the airport and transport you to your hotel, which will be located at the heart of the Eternal City. You can today slow and allow yourselves to adjust to the bustle of Rome.
Your first day together in Italy will be all about luxurious refreshment. Once you have settled into your suite, your driver will transfer you to what is often referred to as the “keyhole to Rome,” which is the Garden of the Oranges. Perched above the Tiber River, this park opens up to sweepingly stunning views of the city of Rome and are ingrained with the sweet fragrance of the oranges. These orange groves are said to have been planted by Saint Dominic who transported the first sapling from ancient Spain. Legend tells us that Catherine of Siena picked oranges from this grove to create candied fruit for Pope Urban VI. You can climb the Aventine Hill for the best view of the city. You can take your time strolling together through the grounds of an ancient fortress that was constructed in the late 1200s. You can also soak in the symmetrical, 8,000 square-meter setting of a garden that was designed purely for pleasure. You will not want to miss the chance to peek through an inconspicuous keyhole on the iron gate that guards the Priory of the Knights of Malta. This experience will offer a striking view of Saint Peter’s Basilica that is framed by the hedges of the garden.
You will end your first day in Rome with a three-star Michelin dinner in one of Rome’s most prestigious eateries. Your host will guide you through choosing the perfect wine from the 60,000 bottle collection that this restaurant keeps on hand. This restaurant offers not only 3,000 years of history with touches that stem from all throughout ancient and modern Roman history but also a candlelit terrace from which to take in an incredible view of the heart of the city itself.

The following day, you will meet your guide for an in-depth tour of the pleasure palace of Rome, the Villa, and Galleria Borghese. Here, you will witness the rare art that was collected by 16th century Cardinal Borghese. You will also be provided with a private rowboat for a sunset visit to the Temple of Asclepius.
While in Rome, your private guide will walk you through the ancient art, architecture, and greenery of the city. Following your first-class train transfer to the city of Florence, you and your partner will be provided with the opportunity to savor the best that Tuscan wine has to offer at two of the world’s most elite wineries. You will wake up on your first morning in Tuscany to enjoy the breathtaking view of the city from your luxurious hotel before meeting your guide for a walk through an ancient Franciscan monastery to discover the makings of one of Florence’s top creations: leather.
You will touch the most supple, sumptuous leather that has been crafted by leatherworkers in an ancient tradition and carefully preserved through centuries. The following day will lead the two of you on a private ride out of the city to a village that is tucked deep within the Etruscan Hills and set high enough so that you can enjoy a panoramic view of the rooftops of Florence. Your driver will return you to your hotel in the evening, so you will be ready to tackle a truly Florentine experience at dawn on your final morning. Day eight will find the two of you climbing the steps of Piazzale Michelangelo, where lovers for generations have shared a traditional kiss at sunrise among the rose garden and Michelangelo replica sculptures that are set against the hills of Tuscany. Our honeymoon in Italy was absolutely magical and so much of that is thanks to our travel company. From our very first call, they took the time to understand what we wanted and crafted an itinerary through Florence, Rome, and the Amalfi Coast that felt personal rather than cookie-cutter. Every detail was handled: hotels, transfers, and tours all ran seamlessly, so we could simply relax and enjoy being newlyweds.
Florence stole our hearts with its art and charm, Rome was awe-inspiring at every turn, and ending the trip on the Amalfi Coast, with those breathtaking sea views, was the perfect romantic finale. The guides were knowledgeable and genuinely passionate, bringing each city to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own.
Communication before and during the trip was prompt and reassuring, and it was clear the team truly cared about making our honeymoon special.
We came home with memories we'll treasure forever. We can't recommend this travel company and Zicasso highly enough. We're already dreaming about our next trip with them!

Thanks for organizing a great trip to Italy for us. We had a great time. The entire experience working with Zicasso's travel company was professional. They were responsive, on top of things, and helped plan and execute a positively memorable trip to Florence, Venice, and Rome.
Hotels: All hotels met our needs. I would rate the hotels across quality of room/property and quality of service on a scale of one to five:
Our hotel in Florence: Quality of room 4/5; Quality of service 5/5.
Our hotel in Tuscany: Quality of room 3/5; Quality of service 4/5.
Our hotel in Rome: Quality of room 5/5 (best room); Quality of service 4.5/5.
Guides and drivers: All guides and drivers did a great job. They were punctual, gave us good information, and were friendly. I want to specially recognize our driver in Florence/Tuscany, our guide on June 26 in Florence, and our guide for the food tour in Rome for doing an exceptional job.
What could’ve been better: Given the hot weather, which is outside everyone’s control, some days felt cramped. In Florence, after the guided tour of Florence, we had the cooking class. As a result, we could not do the planned climb up the Duomo dome. In Venice, if we did it again, we would choose a different location and hotel.
Overall, we ended the trip with very fond memories of Italy. There is so much more to explore in your beautiful country and we will be back. Thanks to the team at the travel company.

With the individual care and support we had from Zicasso's travel specialist, we felt as though we were the only travelers in Florence, etc. Our guides were amazing. Our drivers were pleasant and always on time. It all made me fall in love with Italy.

Our Zicasso travel agent did a great job planning and executing our two-week tour of Italy. Transfers were seamless and guides were knowledgeable and experienced. We particularly loved Florence, our hotel, its staff, and its walkable location to so many sites. We loved the guide in Cinque Terre; he knew the area, specifically a restaurant where we were away from the crowds. Thanks to the travel agent for a job well done.

Zicasso’s travel company and every single guide and driver were stellar. All four hotels were good or excellent. There was one error on the schedule for the day outside of Florence when we had a driver to take us to the Siena region. The schedule stated three hours, so we paid for tickets to the Pitti Palace/garden, which turned out to be wasted money as the driving tour was actually nine hours. It was a beautiful day, though.

We chose Zicasso’s travel company to organize a nine-day trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome for our family of four adults. My wife and I are in our 50s and our two sons are in their early 20s. We all love to travel, but have a range of interests when it comes to experiences, activities, and cuisine. The travel company created an itinerary that gave each of us something memorable.
Everything was planned and executed with care. Hotels were thoughtfully selected, transportation kept us moving without feeling rushed, and every tour guide was exceptional. The team also checked in periodically to make sure we were having the best experience possible. We've traveled internationally many times and this ranks among the very best.
Nine days is just a taste of what Italy has to offer, but our "sampler" tour left all of us excited to return and explore more.
