Milan – Fashionable Arrivals

Milan is the embodiment of a modern Italy, home to both the country’s stock exchange and the tastes of world fashion design. The Gothic cathedral stands at the city’s heart towering over the thick, smoothed cobblestones. Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper hangs in the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie and brings in crowds of people year-round to witness the famous work. Upon your arrival in the bustling city, you will be met by a private driver arranged by one of our Italy travel agents. You find the faint aroma of espresso pouring through the streets.

Much of the cityscape dates back to the 19th century with roots as an Imperial Roman capital. When you spot the Duomo, you find 600 years of history set in 135 spires and 3,400 statues decorating the Piazza del Duomo like a crown. You hear the bells of a trolley car riding through the city, traversing the square, and combining a sense of modern-day transportation within the medieval architecture of the 14th century. The marble edifice adds decadence to the skyline standing 356 feet tall. The interior maintains the ethereal grandeur with the largest stained glass windows ever designed and placed in a cathedral. When the sun casts light through the windows, you can see the colors erupt across the gallery. I

The splendor of Piedmont emanates from the landscape. Emerald forest and rolling hills encompass medieval towns and ancient villages. Truffles grow underneath the lush canopy. Rich chocolates decorate shop windows. Vineyards practically outnumber people, striping the countryside with stretches of grape bundles. This 8-day Piedmont Italy tour of wine and truffles is best experienced in October during the Truffle Festival and is meant for anyone wishing to indulge in the variety of flavors in a region nestled in the base of the Alps. From celebrated wines to ineffable panoramas, a taste of Piedmont will always leave you wanting more.

Your culinary adventure begins in Milan, the fashion capital of Italy and home to the exquisite work The Last Supper by da Vinci. Your private transfer meets you at the airport and escorts you into the city where the remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the energetic streets and splendid squares around the city. The following day you venture to the charming city of Alba, known as the center for wine and agriculture in the region.

Stroll through the historic Roman settlement and sample your way across the Truffle Festival, letting the earthy flavor take over your palate. Travel to the countryside visiting four villages, each known for a specific culinary tradition. The villages are La Morra, Verduno, Pollenzo, and Cherasco. Verduno is specifically known for its celebrated production of Barolo wines. Your day concludes with a delightful wine tasting and truffle-centric dinner. The countryside is ripe with villages emblematic of the region and showcasing unique history.

Next, make your way to Grinzane Cavour, Barolo, Monforte d’Alba, Castiglione Falleto, and Serralunga d’Alba. Italy Vacation Review: Vatican, Colosseum, Venice, Cooking Class, Wine Tasting, Olive Oil, 11 Nights

Zicasso’s travel specialist made this our best trip ever. She was communicative and accommodating, as well as always available for our questions. Every tour and every guide was exceptional. Their ability to communicate their enthusiasm and passion was jaw-dropping. We came back each day with our mouths dropped by the amount of information and the fun we had. Each hotel the travel specialist picked for us was great, offering the best locations and caring, accommodating staff. She was a lovely and genuine person.

One of the highlights was our cooking class with a chef. This does not diminish each tour guide; they were perfect. Also, she arranged private transport that made our trip a breeze from beginning to end. Especially cool was the taxi in Venice! Thank you, to our travel specialist and Zicasso, for an amazing vacation. Oh, the wine and olive oil were perfection. Highly recommend!

Greece Travel Review: Guides, 12 Days

Our travel company and Zicasso were truly excellent trip resources and designers of our two-week vacation to Greece. They arranged every detail. We had transportation prearranged, lodging that was extraordinary, and food that was unforgettable.

Our guides for various day tours in each location were phenomenal. They were never rushed and seemed to give us limitless time. They made arrangements for us that were not part of their paid services, just because they were so welcoming. The guides were all graduates of universities who had completed months of additional studies to become certified as guides. We learned so much from our trip about the places, but also about the culture and what it's like to actually live in Greece. Bravo!

Italy Tour Review: Wine Tasting, Cooking Class, 1 Week

Our Italy trip was so wonderful. From start to finish, Zicasso’s travel specialist curated a memorable and very special, life-changing experience. Our itinerary was amazing, thoughtfully planned (full, but not overwhelming), fun, and precise. We had great small/private tours and guided adventures, from wine tastings and a cooking class to historical explorations, with introductions to local cultural activities and immersion experiences. The attention to detail for the train and other ground transportation we needed during our daily trips was impressive.

I would highly recommend our travel specialist, the travel company, and Zicasso to assist you in planning your next trip/journey/adventure if you want an exceptionally individualized, unique, and special travel experience that will provide you with great, lifelong memories.

Italy Trip Review: Rome, Sicily, 12 Days

It was a pleasure working with Zicasso’s travel specialist and her team for our recent trip to Italy, including Rome and Sicily. The travel specialist was thoughtful throughout and demonstrated exceptional local knowledge when crafting our itinerary, particularly for Sicily, where we spent seven to eight days exploring the northwest, east, and southeast regions.

The itinerary beautifully blended visits to charming fishing villages with well-paced day tours, allowing for meaningful free time in between. In fact, she strongly encouraged us to include a free day to explore on our own, which made a noticeable difference, as we never felt rushed or exhausted. The hotels were impeccably selected and added greatly to the overall experience.

This was a truly memorable trip that we enjoyed every step of the way.

Thank you to the travel specialist and the travel company for creating such a wonderful experience. We will absolutely turn to them again for our next visit to Italy.

Italy Tour Review: Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Florence, 12 Nights

Zicasso’s travel company and every single guide and driver were stellar. All four hotels were good or excellent. There was one error on the schedule for the day outside of Florence when we had a driver to take us to the Siena region. The schedule stated three hours, so we paid for tickets to the Pitti Palace/garden, which turned out to be wasted money as the driving tour was actually nine hours. It was a beautiful day, though.

Italy Trip Review: History, 2 Weeks

From day one of planning, Zicasso’s travel company did an awesome job. They tailored the trip for our likes and never tried to pressure us into add-ons we didn't want. The hotels were four- or five-star and located in the perfect spots. The car company they used was very good. They also answered every question we had in a timely manner. We will use them again when we return to Italy.
