Rome – Contemporary Life in an Ancient World

Rome is vibrant and captivating, embodying truth in its namesake as the Eternal City. Byzantine mosaics and Renaissance frescoes decorate churches. Baroque palaces encircle medieval piazzas. Contemporary artists capture the historic beauty of the architecture and the modern movement of the Roman lifestyle. You arrive at Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport. Your private transfer greets you and leads you into the heart of the city, where you find your luxurious hotel. Locals linger at café tables overlooking the walkways. They sip wine and people-watch. The aroma of freshly made pasta and simmering sauces drift out of hidden restaurants.

City life continues to enrich the atmospheric streets, effortlessly blending the past and present around the Pantheon. The Roman structure was erected in 80 AD and highlights the engineering capabilities of the empire. Massive Corinthian columns adorn the façade. The dome has a diameter of 141 feet and remains the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. Light pours through the single 29-foot opening at the center of the dome. The marble floor adds to the luster of the interior, where you can find the tombs of Italian Kings and treasured cultural icons, including the legendary painter Raphael.

Italy Vacation Review: Vatican, Colosseum, Venice, Cooking Class, Wine Tasting, Olive Oil, 11 Nights

Zicasso’s travel specialist made this our best trip ever. She was communicative and accommodating, as well as always available for our questions. Every tour and every guide was exceptional. Their ability to communicate their enthusiasm and passion was jaw-dropping. We came back each day with our mouths dropped by the amount of information and the fun we had. Each hotel the travel specialist picked for us was great, offering the best locations and caring, accommodating staff. She was a lovely and genuine person.

One of the highlights was our cooking class with a chef. This does not diminish each tour guide; they were perfect. Also, she arranged private transport that made our trip a breeze from beginning to end. Especially cool was the taxi in Venice! Thank you, to our travel specialist and Zicasso, for an amazing vacation. Oh, the wine and olive oil were perfection. Highly recommend!

Greece Travel Review: Guides, 12 Days

Our travel company and Zicasso were truly excellent trip resources and designers of our two-week vacation to Greece. They arranged every detail. We had transportation prearranged, lodging that was extraordinary, and food that was unforgettable.

Our guides for various day tours in each location were phenomenal. They were never rushed and seemed to give us limitless time. They made arrangements for us that were not part of their paid services, just because they were so welcoming. The guides were all graduates of universities who had completed months of additional studies to become certified as guides. We learned so much from our trip about the places, but also about the culture and what it's like to actually live in Greece. Bravo!

Italy Tour Review: Wine Tasting, Cooking Class, 1 Week

Our Italy trip was so wonderful. From start to finish, Zicasso’s travel specialist curated a memorable and very special, life-changing experience. Our itinerary was amazing, thoughtfully planned (full, but not overwhelming), fun, and precise. We had great small/private tours and guided adventures, from wine tastings and a cooking class to historical explorations, with introductions to local cultural activities and immersion experiences. The attention to detail for the train and other ground transportation we needed during our daily trips was impressive.

I would highly recommend our travel specialist, the travel company, and Zicasso to assist you in planning your next trip/journey/adventure if you want an exceptionally individualized, unique, and special travel experience that will provide you with great, lifelong memories.

Italy Travel Review: Matera, 10 Days

Our personal travel agent and her team did an amazing job. Our trip felt personally curated to our group of 10 that ranged in age from 15 to 76.

Every detail was thought out and well planned, and we felt like we could be in the moment and not stress about details that would have been near impossible for us to figure out on our own. The private tours, the drivers, the dinner reservations, and all of the work put into our trip meant we could enjoy each day without stress or frustration.

The travel agent listened to every one of my requests and I felt like our itinerary was the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and history. I will absolutely use this agency again for our next trip to Italy and I will recommend Zicasso to anyone who is traveling abroad. It was a 10/10 experience.

Italy Trip Review: Rome, Sicily, 12 Days

It was a pleasure working with Zicasso’s travel specialist and her team for our recent trip to Italy, including Rome and Sicily. The travel specialist was thoughtful throughout and demonstrated exceptional local knowledge when crafting our itinerary, particularly for Sicily, where we spent seven to eight days exploring the northwest, east, and southeast regions.

The itinerary beautifully blended visits to charming fishing villages with well-paced day tours, allowing for meaningful free time in between. In fact, she strongly encouraged us to include a free day to explore on our own, which made a noticeable difference, as we never felt rushed or exhausted. The hotels were impeccably selected and added greatly to the overall experience.

This was a truly memorable trip that we enjoyed every step of the way.

Thank you to the travel specialist and the travel company for creating such a wonderful experience. We will absolutely turn to them again for our next visit to Italy.

Italy Tour Review: Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Florence, 12 Nights

Zicasso’s travel company and every single guide and driver were stellar. All four hotels were good or excellent. There was one error on the schedule for the day outside of Florence when we had a driver to take us to the Siena region. The schedule stated three hours, so we paid for tickets to the Pitti Palace/garden, which turned out to be wasted money as the driving tour was actually nine hours. It was a beautiful day, though.
