Spain and Morocco, much like romance, encourage you to use all the senses. Sounds float evocatively and are full of clues to your surroundings. You’ll also fall in love with the smells, which are distinct in each city. Tastes can always inspire and the five cities on this honeymoon are famous for their food, not just fine dining but fun journeys through novel flavors. There will also be plenty of opportunities to experience your environment through touch and feel. Explore the great cities of Spain and Morocco and what you remember will not be a particular sight but a pervasive atmosphere. These cities speak to you and create an impression that can be enhanced further with the air of romance.

You’ll see superb sights across Spain and Morocco including La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Palacio Real in Madrid, La Giralda in Seville, and the souks and palaces of Morocco. However, it’s the feelings these cities created that you will remember. From a tapas bar down a cute backstreet to exotic fragrances wafting past your nose, and a sense of time and place that starts to feel unique to you. Even the accommodation has feeling, from a boutique five-star hotel in an old quarter to a colorful Moroccan riad with its own artisanal style.

This handcrafted honeymoon will take you on a journey around the great cities of Spain and Morocco, the cities where romance can thrive and the atmosphere can whisk you off into your own time and space. Additional treasures are dotted throughout, like a tapas crawl, a flamenco performance, and an afternoon in Meknes. All tours and transfers will be private and there’s always a focus on adjusting the pace to your own mood.

Barcelona is a beautiful and bustling introduction to the honeymoon with so much energy and passion on the streets that you will explore. Madrid is indelibly laid-back with plenty of time to wander amid the glamor and really relax into the Spanish experience. Seville is full of fire and flair, as it is a city that takes you away with its amorous atmosphere. Fes is a delight for the senses, where you’ll discover the intimate details of a country’s unique artisanal style. Marrakech is equally impressive since it is a city that effortlessly brings its history into the 21st century. Each city has its own character and they fit together into a bewitching jigsaw that has been impressing traveling couples for centuries.

Spain, Morocco Trip Review: Madrid, Seville, Granada, Gibraltar, Malaga, Cordoba, Casablanca, Oualidia, Marrakech, Tapas Tour, 17 Days

The custom trip and itinerary were developed by Zicasso’s travel company and they made numerous recommendations for exploring, starting in Spain, in Madrid, and continuing down to numerous Andalusian cities, including Seville, Granada, Gibraltar, Málaga, and Córdoba.

Not only was the itinerary prepared with great detail and consideration, but every effort was taken to ensure the lodging requested met five-star requirements. Drivers and guides were assigned to us at all of our destinations, and this included airport arrivals and departures. Drivers and guides were not only punctual, they were personable and extremely knowledgeable, with decades of experience.

Our trip continued to Morocco, where we flew into Casablanca from Málaga. Again, airport connections were perfect and we had VIP arrival service on landing. Our driver and guide were aligned with us for the week we spent between Oualidia and Marrakech. Lodging was exceptional and our expectations were certainly exceeded.

Furthermore, the travel company made it a point to communicate with us openly over WhatsApp, answering the few questions we had in a prompt manner and checking in with us throughout the trip.

This is the first time I have 100% used a travel company and I could not have been more pleased with the delivery of the trip and the overall cost.

Morocco Vacation Review: Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, Rabat, Casablanca, Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert, Cedar Forests, Camel Ride, Hammam, Roman Ruins, Wine Tasting, 11-Day Trip

We had a truly memorable tour of Morocco and were delighted with the experience from start to finish.

Zicasso’s travel specialist was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. He was knowledgeable, responsive, flexible, and consistently helpful. The pre-trip materials were comprehensive and made preparation easy and stress-free.

The travel specialist designed an excellent 11-day itinerary showcasing Morocco's remarkable diversity, including the historic cities of Marrakech, Fes, and Chefchaouen, along with Rabat and Casablanca, as well as the Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert, and cedar forests. Each day offered unique experiences, including vibrant souks, artisan workshops, scenic hikes, camel rides, a traditional hammam, Roman ruins, film studio, and wine tasting.

Every destination featured a dedicated local guide, all of whom were excellent. We traveled in a comfortable SUV and spent the entire trip with our driver. Friendly, professional, and fluent in English, he consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment, while sharing valuable local insights along the way.

Several thoughtful touches further enhanced the experience: unique accommodations, memorable welcome and farewell dinners, a dedicated messaging group for seamless communication, prompt responses to questions and requests, and assistance with restaurant reservations, even at short notice.

We are deeply appreciative of the travel specialist and the entire team at this travel company for creating such a memorable journey, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking a well-planned, authentic, and high-quality Morocco experience.

Portugal, Morocco Tour Review: Porto, Lisbon, Rabat, Agafay Desert, Marrakech, Douro Valley, Ourika Valley, Sidecar Ride, Kayaking, Cooking Class, 13-Day Trip

We just returned from a 13-day trip covering Porto, Lisbon, Rabat, the Agafay Desert, and Marrakech, and the trip exceeded what we had hoped for. We are a family of five, ranging from our early 60s to mid-20s, and Zicasso's travel specialist built an itinerary that worked well for all of us, with some unique experiences that suited our interests and travel style.

He was consistently responsive throughout the planning process and followed through on every detail. More importantly, the on-the-ground logistics in both countries worked well: private drivers arrived on time, guides were knowledgeable and personable, and the accommodations were well chosen. Our camp in the Agafay Desert was a particular highlight.

What made the trip genuinely worthwhile was the texture of it. The Portuguese side offered the kind of immersion you don't get from a highlights tour: a sidecar ride through Porto's historic quarters, a kayaking day in the Douro Valley, and a cooking class the morning we flew to Morocco. The Moroccan half was equally substantive, from the Rabat medina to the Berber family lunch in the Ourika Valley. We came back feeling like we had experienced both cultures, something that we try to really accomplish when we travel.

If you are considering this type of itinerary, this travel specialist is the right person to plan it. I'd book with him again without hesitation.

Morocco Vacation Review: Marrakech, Merzouga, Fes, Chefchaouen, Medinas, Desert, Camel Ride, Gardens, Museums, Cooking Class, 11 Nights

We had the most amazing time in Morocco, thanks to our wonderful Zicasso trip planners. From the very beginning of the planning stages, our agents were not only super-accommodating, but provided great ideas to make our trip as special as could be!

Once we landed, our guide and driver made sure we were comfortable throughout our trip. We visited Marrakech, Merzouga, Fes, and Chefchaouen. Each of these destinations were special in their own way and we had amazing tours in the medinas, visited gardens and museums, had a cooking class and, of course, a wonderful night in the desert.

None of this could have been possible without the expertise of the entire team at the travel agency. The logistics were impeccable, the hotels so beautiful, and suggestions for shopping and meals were perfect as well!

We cannot thank the team enough for such a special experience and we hope to work with them in the future! Thank you so much!

Morocco Travel Review: Marrakech, Atlas Mountains, Imlil, Food Tour, Cooking Class, 8 Nights

Morocco, a country that stimulates all the senses: tastes of tagines, smells of orange blossoms, textures of handmade Berber rugs, sounds of the call to prayer, and sights that are imprinted on my brain.

Our tour guide in the Atlas Mountains was exceptional in bringing us to the home of friends to cook a meal and then safely guiding us through the extraordinary mountain area of Imlil. Our driver navigated the mountain roads and medina traffic equally skillfully and safely, and became a friend.

Our stay in Marrakech was exceptional; doing a food tour and experiencing the breaking of the fast in Ramadan was a highlight. Learning about the culture and history from the knowledgeable guides enriched our experience.

We could not have planned this on our own and are truly thankful for Zicasso’s travel specialist’s guidance in orchestrating this amazing trip.

Spain Travel Review: Barcelona, Seville, Walking Tour, Cooking Class, Shoemaking Workshop, 12-Day Tour

The trip was lovely, but our itinerary was too busy. We’re seniors and enjoy downtime each day. Some of the trips with drivers were too long. Our hotel in Barcelona was very nice with great food. The hotel in Seville was disappointing. The concept of Zicasso is good, but age-appropriate planning would be an improvement.
