Welcome to Singular Scotland
This morning, you arrive on the outskirts of Edinburgh, where a private transfer will pick you up and deliver you to your elegant hotel deep in the heart of the city center and throbbing with the hum of Scottish life. Take some time to drop off your luggage and refresh from the transatlantic flight before setting out to climb the gentle rise of Calton Hill, where you’ll encounter some of the country’s most well-known monuments as well as phenomenal views over the city, the nearby Firth of Forth and the surrounding countryside beyond. Gaze up to the slate grey tower that marks a memorial to Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, witness the eerie incompleteness of the National Monument that’s dedicated to the Scottish dead in the Napoleonic Wars, and check the fluted columns of the Dugald Stewart Monument before making your way back down the hill and to the city center.
More incredible views of the city and its environs can be gained by climbing the 200-foot Gothic spire of the memorial to Sir Walter Scott, while shopping can be had in the New Town section. Opt for a dinner at the small but spectacular Witchery restaurant, immediately adjacent to Edinburgh castle and boasting delicious fare, excellent service, and one of the best wine lists in the city.

Detailed Description
From the annals of medieval British chroniclers to the celluloid of the silver screen, Scotland is a country that is filled with history and legends. It’s a country made up of warrior poets and loveable outlaws, as well as daring princes fighting for a crown and solitary pipers playing tunes that waft over the weathered stretches of the Scottish Highlands. This weeklong Scotland vacation will show you all of this and more, from the modern streets of Scotland’s greatest cities to the unconquerable wilderness of the savage north, from high culture in an aristocratic manor to high winds blowing from the shores of Loch Ness; it’s all within the presence of some of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet.
Learn about Scotland’s numerous rebellions against her mighty neighbor to the south as you stride the defenses of Stirling Castle and survey the fields of Culloden. Explore the country’s more sophisticated side, from the museums of Edinburgh to the Old High Church in Inverness. Weave your way through the famous Highlands, from the valleys of the Great Glen to the endless stretch of Loch Ness. And, of course, have a taste of the finest single malts in the world at one of the nation’s oldest distilleries.
If you’ve ever longed to live in the pages of a Walter Scott novel and you’ve never been put off by the thought of haggis, if you’ve always wanted to see the spectacular scenery of the Highlands and found yourself longing for nice spot of whisky, or if you’ve ever wanted to experience life in all its incarnations, from natural beauty to urban splendor, then this is the trip for you. Scotland is unique and unforgettable, memorable and magical, fun and friendly and truly fantastic. And it’s waiting for you to visit.

We recently returned from our tour of Scotland that we booked through Zicasso’s travel company, and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. Our travel agent created a wonderful itinerary, with some fantastic tours. Even though we had some mix-ups along the way, the travel agent and our driver quickly changed plans and got us to other great sites. In the end, everything worked out and the travel company made it right.
From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully organized, without ever being rigid or rushed. Our personal driver struck the perfect balance between being informative and personable, sharing rich historical context, local legends, and even a bit of humor that made long drives feel short. He made the trip so much fun and kept us laughing the entire trip. It never felt like a scripted experience; instead, it felt like traveling with someone who genuinely loves Scotland and wants you to love it too.
The itinerary was particularly well designed. We covered iconic highlights, from Edinburgh, through Glasgow, staying in Inverness, then ending the trip in Edinburgh in one of the most romantic and elegant places we have stayed.
Through our travels, we saw dramatic Highlands, serene lochs, and charming villages, while still having enough free time to explore on our own. I appreciated that the schedule didn’t feel overly packed; there was space to soak in the scenery, enjoy a quiet walk, or linger a bit longer in places that captured our attention.
The accommodations were another standout. Each place had its own character, ranging from cozy inns to elegant hotels, all clean and comfortable. It felt like an authentic experience rather than a generic one.
Transportation was smooth and reliable. Having our own personal driver made a big difference. It allowed for a more intimate, flexible experience and made it one of the best vacation experiences we have had.
If I had to offer one small suggestion, it would be to include slightly more time in some of the smaller towns—we often wished we could stay just a bit longer. That said, I understand the challenge of balancing such a rich itinerary.
Overall, this was a memorable and enriching trip, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this travel company to anyone looking to explore Scotland in a meaningful and well-organized way. I came home with not just photos, but a genuine appreciation for the country’s history, landscapes, and culture.

Zicasso’s travel specialists were excellent to work with, as we adjusted our itinerary many times from initial contact to the time of travel. Our travel party significantly reduced in number and they worked with us to put together a great tour of Scotland (Edinburgh, including the castle, Royal Holyrood Palace, and a day trip to Stirling Castle with a great chauffeur/guide) and Ireland, arranging our flight to Dublin with transportation to Galway, then return via train for activities in Dublin. We had a wonderful trip and would highly recommend the travel company.

The trip was awesome, but the standout portion of the trip was our time with our chauffeur. He both knowledgeable and engaged the entire time, and just a pleasure to be around. Our accommodations were nice and our scheduled excursions in Edinburgh were great.
If I could offer one suggestion, and, in truth, it's difficult to even come up with one, we would have appreciated assistance with dinner reservations while we were in Edinburgh. Other Zicasso trips we've taken have included this service and we have found it very helpful.
I am looking forward to our next trip with this travel company! We've already made a list of what we'd like to see next time. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing experience. Looking forward to my next (my fifth) Zicasso trip!

We recently traveled to the UK using Zicasso’s travel specialist and we had the most amazing trip. Everything was planned out perfectly. From the pick-up at the airport to drop-off, we met friendly and interesting drivers who couldn’t wait to share their knowledge of London, York, and Edinburgh.
The guides we had for various excursions were fantastic. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. My husband is an amateur photographer and they were great with suggestions and very patient while he took his photos.
We had a small issue with a hotel room and it was resolved within hours by the travel specialist and her team, which made our stay a dream. She was also able to get us inside tickets to Stonehenge and, wow, it was magical.
Honestly, we were overwhelmed at first trying to plan this on our own, but working with the travel specialist was the best thing we did. We have wonderful memories of England and Scotland, and we are very grateful.
