Cape Town – Exploring Table Mountain’s Forgotten Back Slopes
The famous image of Table Mountain that you will see is of the flat, front side. Most visitors do not see any more than this and the cable car station, while the locals spend their time elsewhere on this enchanting mountain. After a private airport transfer and some time to refresh at your hotel, you will travel to the back of Table Mountain. Here, vineyards stretch out across the foothills, and the rows of vines are interspersed with fynbos and botanical flora. These vineyards gaze toward Devil’s Peak and the Cape of Good Hope. During a leisurely afternoon, you will absorb these vistas while sampling Constantia’s luxurious wine. While crowds gather on one part of Table Mountain, these Constantia back slopes provide space to rest after the flight.

Detailed Description
It is easy to dream of South Africa and see Table Mountain and rhinos as they wander around the Kruger. Regardless, this vast Rainbow Nation holds so many secrets. There are histories and cultures from long before the explorers landed, and you will find rare and endangered wildlife that has been almost forgotten by the world. Street art illuminates city streets while rock art survives in wilderness mountains, and for every famous attraction like the Cape penguins, there is somewhere completely unknown like the town of Darling. Even in the most popular destination of Cape Town, there is so much that remains to be uncovered
This South Africa vacation will reveal South Africa’s secrets, and it will take you far from the standard trail into the places where authenticity reigns. Your first three days will be spent in Cape Town, where you can venture beyond the shadow of Table Mountain. You will explore the mountain’s back slopes on day one, discover the West Coast on day two, and then dive into the local culture in Woodstock and Langa on day three. You will then fly to Johannesburg and spend the next two days in a city that is quickly reinventing itself. Here, you will discover Mandela’s history in Soweto, human history at the Cradle of Humankind, and tomorrow’s history in the funky city center.
By day six, you will be in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, which is Africa’s oldest, protected reserve, but it remains a safari destination that is mostly ignored in favor of the Kruger. It is an evocative and incredibly intimate place to go on safari, and the wildlife population is not only diverse and abundant. Your accommodation also provides an atmospheric insight into unique animal behavior. After two days on safari, you will spend an afternoon in Durban, which is a coastal city with a rich heritage. Two days in the Drakensberg mountains will culminate your vacation, affording you time to explore San rock art and the mountainous kingdom of Lesotho. After ten nights in this amazing country, you will depart from Johannesburg.

I sort of pivoted with what we wanted Zicasso’s travel specialist to arrange for us and she handled that change very well. We essentially asked her just to handle the safari part of our trip and sought her input on some other itinerary decisions we had made. She gave us great guidance and, ultimately, we loved the safari lodge she selected.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience and met nice people and professional guides that showed us a small part of your beautiful country. The pace of our stay was very good for older folks. We enjoyed Cape Town and all the sightseeing done with our guide: Table Mountain and the scenic drive to Cape of Good Hope, and the time spent in Franschhoek and the guided tour. The time spent at the game reserve gave us exposure to some of the wild animals that we had never seen but in movies or magazines.
Thanks to Zicasso’s travel specialist and her team for preparing our trip. It was very easy and the Zicasso website works very well.
