Energetic Neighborhoods

Buenos Aires is known as the birthplace of tango and the “Paris of South America.” Each of the 47 neighborhoods across the city maintains a distinct character that adds to the overall charm of the city. The history of the famous dance pulses through the streets, a constant reminder of the passion Buenos Aires emanates. You arrive at the airport, where your private transfer is waiting to greet you. The Buenos Aires Obelisk is a historical monument crowning the Plaza de la Republica, where two main avenues of the city meet. The obelisk was erected in the 1930s and stands 221 feet tall.

It commemorates the point where the National Flag was first raised over the city, along with the 400th anniversary of the city’s founding. Plaza San Martin is one of the most historic neighborhoods in the city, located at the base of Florida Street. The pedestrian walkways give credence to the European atmosphere of the city, lined with elegant palaces that once belonged to aristocratic families and sensational shops with graceful display windows. Your guide escorts you to the neighborhood of Recoleta, known for its tranquil ambiance, lavish style, and beautiful tree shaded walkways. Consider learning more about your Argentina tour operators, who strive to provide you with the finest and detailed tours specifically catered to your interests. Cafes set out tables on the sidewalks in front of French-style buildings. A craft fair fills Plaza Francia on the weekends. You can settle into your luxurious hotel and enjoy the mixture of European environment with a distinctly South American flair.

Chile, Argentina Vacation Review: Torres del Paine, Iguazu Falls, 3 Weeks

Zicasso’s travel agency put together an incredible trip experience for us. It was truly collaborative, melding their ideas with our own, and it came together beautifully. There was a small smattering of activities and hotels that we didn’t love, but overall, we were very happy. And their customer service, with a dedicated trip concierge who checked in on us daily, went above and beyond what most agencies provide.

Chile, Argentina Trip Review: Patagonia, Laguna de los Tres, Perito Moreno Glacier, Cruise, Hiking, 3 Weeks

The trip was amazing. Everything we expected of Patagonia! Ice, ice, and more ice. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a great job organizing the trip based on our desires. We hit all the highlights for sure and hiked and hiked.

The only hiccup with the travel arrangements was one driver not showing up for delivery of us to the airport for an early-morning flight. It was a scramble, but we made it.

Argentina, Chile Trip Review: Buenos Aires, Tigre Delta, Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Madryn, El Chalten, Laguna de los Tres, Bariloche, Nahuel Huapi National Park, Peulla, Puerto Varas, Lago Llanquihue, Santiago, Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, Hiking, Sailboat, 17 Days

It was another excellent adventure in South America. During this trip, I was able to discover South America and learn more about Argentina and Chile, and see more unique landscapes of Argentina and Chile.

This is how the trip was broken down:

Buenos Aires

I cannot thank our guide enough for teaching me more about Argentinian history, showing me historical places and some of the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires capital, and a few neighborhoods of Buenos Aires province.

I even was on a private boat sailing on the Tigre Delta and rode subways in Buenos Aires.

Peninsula Valdés

I highly enjoyed my stay here as I got to enjoy a different part of Patagonia that is a coastal region. I enjoyed seeing the sea lions and elephant seals with my own eyes. The experience in San Lorenzo penguin colony was an experience I will never forget, seeing the penguins so close. I can’t believe I explored a small part of Chubut province, especially Puerto Madryn, the first European settlement in the Patagonia region. Our guide did a great job driving me and teaching me about the wildlife here in Peninsula Valdés.

El Chaltén

I will not forget this hike. I give credit to our guide for being patient with me and very helpful to me, as it was a challenging hike to Laguna de los Tres. Twelve hours, hiking 23km. The fact that I survived the hike and saw Laguna de los Tres is unbelievable. The drive from the airport to El Chaltén was one of the most beautiful car rides I ever had, as I saw the silhouette of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

Bariloche

Our guides helped show me this beautiful city of lakes and the famous Nahuel Huapi National Park.

Peulla

The journey from Bariloche to Peulla was so beautiful. The difference in colors of Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Frías made me appreciate this beautiful journey.

Puerto Varas

To see two volcanoes from your hotel over Lago Llanquihue is a breathtaking scene itself. Our guide was excellent, teaching me the history of Puerto Varas and taking me to towns around Puerto Varas.

Santiago

My favorite part of this final section was visiting Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. I love how unique Valparaíso is. Our guide was very helpful in teaching me the history of Chile and also the current events of Chile.

Another great and memorable trip in South America.
