Detailed Description
England sometimes baffles America with its quirky spellings and unusual phrases, but there was a famous literary setting here long before Columbus even set sail. This is the home of Shakespeare, the poetic cornerstone in a line of authors that have shaped imaginations around the world. They span the genres, and their inspirations are very real; Tolkien's surrealist tones came from Oxford chapels and dining halls, a Dickensesque London takes you down atmospheric alleyways, while Davy Byrne's Pub is just like what you might have pictured when reading Ulysses. You travel from the “city of dreaming spires” to where Shakespeare sat and wisely penned “but love is blind, and lovers cannot see.” You breathe in the musty scent of the millions of books that fill the Bodleian and British libraries. And you celebrate the seminal destinations from some of the world's greatest ever literary figures.
Begin your England vacation in London and the five-star Brown's Hotel, the inspiration for Agatha Christie and Rudyard Kipling amongst others. Tour the city of eclectic imaginations, including the world of Conan Doyle and Samuel Johnson. As the pages turn, you journey through the centuries, taking a walk down the memory lane of Dickens and the 17th-century sonnets of Shakespeare. The 10-day tour is dappled with the quaint touches of royal England, ensuring you indulge in the classic scenes from a Jane Austen novel, like afternoon tea and glamorous stately homes. There's also many free afternoons so you can also explore your own chapters.
Move on to Oxford and its inspiring university halls, places where Oscar Wilde and C. S. Lewis sat and mused with their fountain pens. Some of the buildings have such a strong Harry Potter resonance that it's hard to decide who's been plagiarizing. Seductive and often surreal, the city offers a showcase into an England that features in the travel reverie of many first-time visitors. There's something unquestionably and insatiably English about it all, even if you can't quite grasp why. Nearby Stratford-upon-Avon reveals the same tones of quintessence, the birthplace of Shakespeare looking remarkably like it did back in the early 17th century. On a literary tour, it's an absolute must, one enhanced by a performance at the town's celebrated theater.
From England to Dublin, you complete the tour with James Joyce and the turn-of-last-century inspiration for Ulysses and Dubliner. Just like the lanes of Dickens' London, you're guided through the city by a local author, unraveling the fabled destinations from the annals of world literary history. Throughout these entire ten days, you enjoy private luxury transfers, indulgent five-star accommodations, and guides with a distinct specialism. With literature as your focus, you discover the hidden sites that have become iconic images in the eyes of millions around the world.

Zicasso’s travel specialist and his team were superb. They were able to craft the perfect trip for us. The hotels, destinations, and tours were all very well planned and arranged, and they went out of their way to arrange everything just as we requested.
I would recommend the travel company to everyone who wants polite, efficient service. The team was available and responded a couple of times quickly during the trip when we had questions. Overall, they made our trip one to remember for years to come. We were all very happy.

Zicasso’s travel specialists were excellent to work with, as we adjusted our itinerary many times from initial contact to the time of travel. Our travel party significantly reduced in number and they worked with us to put together a great tour of Scotland (Edinburgh, including the castle, Royal Holyrood Palace, and a day trip to Stirling Castle with a great chauffeur/guide) and Ireland, arranging our flight to Dublin with transportation to Galway, then return via train for activities in Dublin. We had a wonderful trip and would highly recommend the travel company.

We recently traveled to the UK using Zicasso’s travel specialist and we had the most amazing trip. Everything was planned out perfectly. From the pick-up at the airport to drop-off, we met friendly and interesting drivers who couldn’t wait to share their knowledge of London, York, and Edinburgh.
The guides we had for various excursions were fantastic. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. My husband is an amateur photographer and they were great with suggestions and very patient while he took his photos.
We had a small issue with a hotel room and it was resolved within hours by the travel specialist and her team, which made our stay a dream. She was also able to get us inside tickets to Stonehenge and, wow, it was magical.
Honestly, we were overwhelmed at first trying to plan this on our own, but working with the travel specialist was the best thing we did. We have wonderful memories of England and Scotland, and we are very grateful.

Zicasso’s travel company was an incredible partner for our trip. I was traveling with an elderly woman and two kids (11 and 13), and they did a fantastic job making sure every activity worked well for all of us. They thoughtfully arranged our travel and activities in Paris and London, and everything was seamless. They were always quick to respond if anything came up, and every experience they planned, from guides to excursions, was truly top-notch.
What really stood out were their thoughtful recommendations. They didn’t just plan a trip, they introduced us to unique, one-of-a-kind experiences we never would have found on our own.
I would wholeheartedly recommend the travel company to anyone traveling to Europe. By the end of the trip, they didn’t feel like a vendor, they felt like friends.
