Touching Down in the Capital of Argentina

Early this morning, you’ll find yourself on the outskirts of breathtaking Buenos Aires, the capital of arresting Argentina and one of the great cities of South America. A private driver will be waiting for you at the airport, ready to transport you to your perfectly located and luxurious hotel, filled with modern amenities and resplendent with Latin American charm. Take some time to relax and recover from your long journey before setting out to see the sights of this magical metropolis for the first time.

The afternoon features a fully guided tour of Buenos Aires, showing the best of its various barrios (neighborhoods) and giving you unique insight into its indescribable and undeniable allure. Make your way to the opulent city center, where you’ll find the famous Plaza de Mayo, the center of Argentine political activism for more than a century.  Nearby is the iconic Casa Rosada, the “Pink House” that serves as the executive mansion for the President of Argentina.

Continue to the charming neighborhood of San Telmo, whose cobblestone streets echo a decidedly artistic feel, before turning to the boisterous and colorful barrio (neighborhood) of La Boca, where the air is filled with the shouts of street vendors and the graceful forms of tango dancers. You’ll also get a chance to see the newly restored and renovated port at Puerto Madero and the stately streets of Palermo, where you’ll find some of the finest shops and restaurants in all of Buenos Aires.

Detailed Description

This 9-day Argentina and Chile wine region tour will introduce you to the great vintners and vintages of the area, from Chile’s plunging valleys to the high and dry plateaus that surround Mendoza. Throw in the cultural delights of Santiago and Buenos Aires, and this is sure to be one visit to wine country that is unlike anything else you’ve ever experienced.

Explore the great cities of these two noteworthy nations, from the Plaza de Armas in Santiago to the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires, from the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral to the captivating Casa Rosada. Revel in the wonders of the borderlands, from the soaring Andes to the magic of Mendoza to the Gauchos, the pride of the Pampas. And, of course, sip the most decadent Malbecs, the crispest Torrontes, and a Cabernet better than anyone in Napa, within the stunning scenery of South America. If your palate is as refined as your taste for adventure; if a fine glass of wine is second only to a festive night of entertainment; if you’re looking for a journey that you can rave to your friends and family about, then Chile and Argentina are the only places to go.

Zicasso’s travel specialist and our guide took great care of us. We were two friends traveling through Chile and everything was managed with professionalism and thoughtful consideration. We had great hotels, great excursions, and on-time transfers booked. Everything ran smoothly, and when we had some travel delays, everything was taken care of for us. I would highly recommend this travel company and we had a fabulous trip to Chile.

Argentina Honeymoon Review: Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Tango Show, Hiking, Glacier, Horseback Riding, 10 Days

Zicasso’s travel specialist planned the honeymoon of our dreams! She seamlessly scheduled our time in Buenos Aires and Patagonia.

Our excursions included a tango show, hikes, mini-trekking on Perito Moreno Glacier, and horseback riding on an estancia. Our lodging and transportation were so convenient.

We would not have been able to plan this ideal trip without her expertise. She kept in consistent contact with us prior to and throughout our stay, and provided us with great food recommendations and travel tips. We got the full Argentine experience and we would do it all over again!

Argentina, Chile Vacation Review: Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Lake District, Calafate, Tierra del Fuego, Torres del Paine National Park, Cruise, Glacier Visit, 3 Weeks

We enjoyed the trip very much. We had planned to visit every place of interest to us in Patagonia on this trip, so it was quite a complex trip to arrange. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a great job overall. We had private guides and private cars for everything, so we could enjoy the experiences at our own pace and focus on the things that interested us.

We started in Buenos Aires, but our main focus was natural beauty. We spent a very interesting day and a half in the city, though. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the local history and the sites we visited. Next we went to Iguazú Falls, which was a spectacular experience. Our guide there was the only one who didn't seem as deep or as organized as all the others, but that was a minor issue. Although it is wickedly expensive, I would highly recommend that travelers stay in the one and only lodge inside the Iguazú Falls national park. We got a lot more out of our time there because we were right there at the park.

Next we went to the Lake District and spent memorable days on the water there; amazing scenery! We also saw condors during one of our day-long boat rides on the lake.

Next, we went to Calafate. Although we are not trekkers, the visits to the two main glaciers were unforgettable. The travel specialist had us in the VIP cabin for the day-long boat trip and we had a very knowledgeable guide for the visit to the Perito Moreno glacier.

We did the four-day cruise through Tierra del Fuego next, which I highly recommend, ending in Chile, where we spent two days at the Torres del Paine National Park, one by road in the park with a very knowledgeable private guide, and the second on a full-day lake tour with a marvelous lunch at a scenic ranch, with a close-up view to a glacier.

We went mostly into Patagonia and Torres del Paine, an amazing location. Zicasso’s travel specialist delivered as promised! Everything was first-class and his recommendations for everything from tours to restaurants were right on.

A special note to those with food allergies:

I have a lot of food allergies, so it is not easy for me to eat out, let alone out of the country. I let the travel specialist know ahead of time and all my tours, hotels, and guides knew I was coming and really helped to accommodate me. THANKS AGAIN!
