Day 1

Monterosso – Arrive in the Beautiful Coastal Province of Cinque Terre

The villages of Cinque Terre cling to the steep cliffs of the Ligurian coastline that overlook the Mediterranean Sea. The turquoise water splashes against the rocks and the pastel colored homes stand out against the layered rocks. Your flight will land at Galileo Galilei Airport in Pisa, and your private transfer will meet you at baggage claim. You will enjoy the ride along the scenic, winding road and past olive groves and lemon trees that open up to the seaside. The car will stop at the edge of Monterosso, the most northern of the Cinque Terre villages and the largest of the five villages.

A promenade lines the breadth of the pebbled beach as colorful umbrellas cast shade over the lounging beachgoers. The water splashes lazily at the shoreline as lush vines stretch across the terraced hillsides that border the town. The antiquity emanates from the pastel painted houses that line the cobblestone streets of Old Town as the aroma of freshly baked focaccia bread drifts from the bakeries and blends into the briny scent of the Mediterranean. A tunnel connects the maze-like lanes of the older district to the streets of the newer district, in which the homes stand out from the trees and ascend the hills. The Aurora Tower stand on a promontory at the edge of the beach guarding the coastline as it has since the 16th-century.

Italy Tour Review: 12 Days

It was the trip of a lifetime! Zicasso’s travel agent was absolutely incredible and took care of every detail. He went above and beyond in many ways, and didn't think twice about it. In the middle of the trip, we asked to switch our final destination. He didn't hesitate and had everything taken care of within two hours. I will definitely refer this travel company to anyone planning a trip to Italy.

Italy Tour Review: Sorrento, Venice, Colosseum, Blue Grotto, Gondola Ride, 2 Weeks

Zicasso’s travel agent developed our itinerary to our specifications. She reached out right away and called if a follow-up was needed or to clarify something. Our trip went off without any problems. The itinerary was very clear, as was the timeline, trip summary, and tickets. If I had a question, she always responded.

We had one slight issue, which was quickly resolved and worked itself out. I communicated often with her throughout the trip and I always received a pleasant response. Our trip was designed to our needs. Our accommodations were wonderful! I would definitely recommend this travel company!

France, Italy, China, Japan Trip Review: Paris, Rome, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Glass Blowing, Cultural Experiences, 16 Days

Zicasso’s travel company did such a great job putting the trip together. I was charged for an extra night at our hotel in Paris, but they are refunding that and the Cairo portion of the trip we had to cancel.

Our Paris tour guide was great and I’d recommend her to anyone. Our Rome tour guides were very good. Hong Kong was fine. Our Tokyo guide was wonderful.

Really, the only hiccup on the trip was our hotel in Hong Kong. The company that picked us up dropped us at one hotel, not the correct one. Thankfully, a couple of their bellhops walked us and all our luggage several blocks to the correct hotel. Our tour guide the next day also went to the wrong hotel, but we only lost about 45 minutes before we figured out the issue. If you use that hotel again, please make sure folks know which hotel is which.

The "Fast and Furious" car experience was OK; however, my grandson was so tired he slept through most of it. The chopstick-making was fun, as was the glass-blowing experience.

Zicasso’s travel agent was accommodating and helpful for our trip to Tuscany. Since there were so many of us, people had different needs. She was able to accommodate our differences and work out plans the best she could. We enjoyed all of the selections that she gave us, especially the dinner in the Chianti vineyard. Everyone loved that. We definitely recommend this travel company!

Italy Travel Review: Amalfi Coast, Rome, Capri, Sorrento, 10 Nights

We had an amazing trip of a lifetime to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a fantastic job getting to know me and finding out what my exact wants were. They kept tabs on us while we were traveling and even contacted us when our train was delayed over an hour. When we had an issue, there was always someone there to help resolve it.

Italy Anniversary Travel Review: Tuscany, Cooking Class, Vineyards, 12 Nights

Our anniversary trip to Italy, which Zicasso’s travel specialist helped me plan, was magical. She spaced out our activities, so we got to see the major sites, but didn't feel overbooked. She was extremely helpful days before the trip, making sure we had detailed instructions and vouchers, and was available on WhatsApp while we were traveling. She was super-responsive during the planning and while we were on the trip.
