Florence – Arrive in Florence
Florence stands at the heart of Tuscany and fills the famous region with the luster of its Renaissance influence lining the Arno River. As your flight descends into the Florence airport, you will see the cypress trees and vineyards that rise along the rolling hills of the countryside. Your private transfer will meet you at the baggage claim and lead you along the cobblestones of Florence’s city center. The massive dome of the Florence Cathedral soars above the palaces and historical buildings of the city. Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to show you the wonders of Florence on an introductory walking tour to highlight the city’s open-air museum characteristics.
The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Campanile, and the Baptistery rise from the heart of the Piazza del Duomo. The inlaid marble shines pink, white, and green in the passing sunlight. The Museo dell’Opera del Duomo hides in an antique palace that borders the square behind the Cathedral’s main entrance. The Cathedral is often considered the symbol of Florence, from its incredible dome designed by Brunelleschi to the sheer magnitude of the church, which reaches a length of nearly 500 feet long. The interior contains hints of frankincense that linger from mass earlier in the day.
The 44 stained glass windows from the 14th and 15th-century continue to glow with sharp hues that bring a rainbow of light into the nave. Lorenzo Ghiberti, who designed the bronze panels of the baptistery doors, also created the stunning Biblical depictions in the three rose windows. Your elaborate introductory tour of the city ends at the Church of San Miniato that overlooks the Tuscan countryside and Florence. The aroma of lush cypress trees overtakes the air outside of the entrance. You walked up the hill that bordered the city, which provides access to Piazza Michelangelo. Inside the church, the local monks still chant nightly, as they have since the church’s inception in the 11th-century.

It was the trip of a lifetime! Zicasso’s travel agent was absolutely incredible and took care of every detail. He went above and beyond in many ways, and didn't think twice about it. In the middle of the trip, we asked to switch our final destination. He didn't hesitate and had everything taken care of within two hours. I will definitely refer this travel company to anyone planning a trip to Italy.

Zicasso’s travel agent developed our itinerary to our specifications. She reached out right away and called if a follow-up was needed or to clarify something. Our trip went off without any problems. The itinerary was very clear, as was the timeline, trip summary, and tickets. If I had a question, she always responded.
We had one slight issue, which was quickly resolved and worked itself out. I communicated often with her throughout the trip and I always received a pleasant response. Our trip was designed to our needs. Our accommodations were wonderful! I would definitely recommend this travel company!

Zicasso’s travel company did such a great job putting the trip together. I was charged for an extra night at our hotel in Paris, but they are refunding that and the Cairo portion of the trip we had to cancel.
Our Paris tour guide was great and I’d recommend her to anyone. Our Rome tour guides were very good. Hong Kong was fine. Our Tokyo guide was wonderful.
Really, the only hiccup on the trip was our hotel in Hong Kong. The company that picked us up dropped us at one hotel, not the correct one. Thankfully, a couple of their bellhops walked us and all our luggage several blocks to the correct hotel. Our tour guide the next day also went to the wrong hotel, but we only lost about 45 minutes before we figured out the issue. If you use that hotel again, please make sure folks know which hotel is which.
The "Fast and Furious" car experience was OK; however, my grandson was so tired he slept through most of it. The chopstick-making was fun, as was the glass-blowing experience.

Zicasso’s travel agent was accommodating and helpful for our trip to Tuscany. Since there were so many of us, people had different needs. She was able to accommodate our differences and work out plans the best she could. We enjoyed all of the selections that she gave us, especially the dinner in the Chianti vineyard. Everyone loved that. We definitely recommend this travel company!

Our honeymoon trip to Italy, planned by Zicasso’s travel company, was the perfect trip in every way. From the time we landed in Rome and were greeted by our driver to the time we left Venice 12 days later, every detail was taken care of. The guides, tours, accommodations, restaurant recommendations, and travel transfers were expertly executed, so we didn't have to worry about anything except having the time of our lives!

We had an amazing trip of a lifetime to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a fantastic job getting to know me and finding out what my exact wants were. They kept tabs on us while we were traveling and even contacted us when our train was delayed over an hour. When we had an issue, there was always someone there to help resolve it.
