East Africa Travel Guide

The whole experience was amazing. From the start of planning our trip to getting home, the communication was clear and helpful, the experiences were more than we could have hoped for, and it was truly a dream vacation. I couldn’t have done this on my own, and throughout the trip, I was so thankful.

Words cannot begin to describe the experiences we had on our African adventure, but I will try.

While we have traveled extensively, this was indeed the "trip of a lifetime." Seeing the wildlife so close you could almost reach out and touch them (although we were certainly told to keep all arms and legs inside the safari vehicles!) was an experience not to be missed. The guides were beyond passionate and knowledgeable. We gained a greater appreciation for nature and the way of the wild. The African sunrises and sunsets are simply magical.

As far as the trip planning, everything was seamless and we had so many bespoke experiences that I cannot imagine we would have ever been able to plan and execute on our own. The lodges were fantastic, in gorgeous locations, and we met many like-minded travelers during shared dinners. The helicopter flight over Victoria Falls was breathtaking. The villa in Mozambique was over-the-top and a perfect way to end our trip to try to process all that we experienced during our three-week experience.

The planning process was easy, we were kept well informed of our options, and once the trip was closer, communication with the team at Zicasso's travel company answered our last-minute questions perfectly.

We will absolutely be recommending this travel company to our friends who want to do this itinerary next year.

Zicasso's travel specialist was wonderful to work with: thorough, responsive, and endlessly patient throughout the planning of our trip. When we had to make last-minute changes due to circumstances beyond our control, she handled everything seamlessly and still managed to make the trip amazing and memorable.

Zicasso's travel company, as well as the people who worked on planning and scheduling our trip, was simply great. Our trip went off without a hitch and compared to how we usually travel, it seemed too easy at times; we didn’t even need to remember our itinerary because there was someone always there to remind us what or where we were going and to help us at border crossings or with plane flights. I don’t want to write "idiot proof," but pretty much, it was… in a good way.

The information and instructions on what we needed to have for our trip were easy to understand and completed easily because of the information and guidance provided by the folks at the travel company.

It was an amazing trip. Zicasso's travel specialist took care of all the details, with excellent suggestions, while still working within our budget. She even remembered that our trip was for our 30th anniversary and had a little surprise for us.
